Aula Space ProgramA living room in the heart of the city, shared by a community of different but like-minded people. A home for projects, a hangout, a gallery, a wireless hot spot. This story follows the life of the Aula project, from creation to fruition.

aula_brochurestamp.jpg By combining a unique relaxed environment with future wireless technologies, Aula enables the osmosis of ideas between different subcultures. It is a platform for work and play. The point is: "doing together" and "being together" can mix here.

» Aula's Social Club in Helsinki operated from 2001 to 2002. It was the center of a community of over four hundred people working in different fields of life including science, art, business, government and NGOs. The club has served as a model for other community spaces in Finland, the U.S., Latvia, Japan, and other countries.
